My little one does not like a cold rag when he is sick or a harsh ice pack for a boo-boo. He does love his fleece blankie though, and this has been great for us.
They are also perfect security blankets for when your child is feeling fine. They will always want to carry their blankie around. I use the pocket to hold an emergency paci for my youngest child, and my oldest child puts dinosaurs in the pocket of his when we do not need to use the hot/cold packs.
