Close To My Heart  is a project created to help children and their families who suffer with serious conditions such as cancer and leukemia as well as other rare conditions such as Arthrogryposis, that we need to learn more about. A $1.00 is donated from every sale to this important project.

Nominated Child: Child of the Month

Each month we select a child who has been nominated by customers to qualify for the donations. You may nominate a child by sending a detailed e-mail containing the child's condition, family contacts and any other information to :

If the child is approved, the parents must agree to allow Boo-Boo Blankies to post their child's story on this website.  I hope that your stories will give other families hope as well. No contact information will be listed.

Camp Smile-A-Mile was founded in 1985.  Our mission today is to provide year round challenging, unforgettable recreational and educational experiences for young cancer patients, their families as well as young adult survivors from Alabama at no cost.  Our purpose is to provide these patients, families and survivors with avenues for fellowship, to help them cope with their disease, and to prepare them for life after cancer.
